After being forcefully removed from his home, Dan decided to leave the floating city behind and forge his own home far away from the violent ways of The Cube. With his followers in tow, he took to the waters, looking for a suitable place to not only be disconnected from The Cube, but from the rest of Merinis in general. After a few days of sailing, they found a sizable island and decided to make a beach head there to decide if the island would make a good home.
Under his careful guidance, Dan's crew began to construct a few basic houses, set up a small farm, and most importantly, assembled Dan's last Cube Driver, the technology he developed to keep evil monsters away from human habitation.
The next thing on his list was to acquire gold, the driving force behind most, if not all, Cube Tech, so they then began to explore the island.
A couple of days into their exploration, and after a lot of hard work, they had managed to establish a successful mining outpost a little ways into the island. It didn't take long, however, for their past to begin to haunt them.
A cultist group bent on murder through the use of monsters noticed them leaving the cube after Lunar lased one of their small towns. Adding to the furry generated by the attack, they were insulted by the fact that The Cube wasn't even aware they existed. That they couldn't attack with monsters because of the Cube Drivers, on top of it being an unreachable floating fortress, made them all the more hateful towards The Cube.
Though he hated it with every fiber of his being, Dan was once again forced to witness horrific amounts of meaningless bloodshed. Because the monsters couldn't approach the beach head, it was instead in the form of wave after wave of lightly armored cultists with swords being blasted apart by scatter guns as they attempted to destroy the Cube Driver. Only after hours of one sided slaughter did they finally realize that they could never touch Cube Tech with their primitive weapons. The cultist presence vanished from the island by morning, and fearing an ambush on the waters, Dan and his people made the island their permanent home, naming it Imation in honor of their single casualty, Emma.
